Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has denied having an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of Sergey Brin, a co-founder of Google.
According to a shocking Wall Street Journal article published on Sunday, Elon Musk had a brief liaison with Sergey Brin’s wife last fall. According to The Journal, the bond between Brin and Musk was severed by the romance, which caused Brin to divorce Nicole Shanahan earlier this year. Musk, however, refuted the allegations.
Following news that his friendship with Mr. Brin had soured over the alleged affair, Mr. Musk made his remarks. Mr. Musk called the report “complete bs” in response to a tweet that contained a link to the article.
“We were at a party together last night,” continued Mr. Musk, adding that they are still close friends.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Mr. Musk had a brief liaison with Ms. Shanahan in the latter part of last year, citing sources with knowledge of the situation. According to the newspaper, this led to Mr. Brin filing for divorce earlier this year and ending their longtime friendship. Both men are well-known technology billionaires.
Still, Mr. Musk wrote, “In the past three years, I’ve only had two encounters with Nicole, both of which involved a large crowd. Nothing romantic”.
According to a source close to Ms. Shanahan who spoke to the Wall Street Journal, Mr. Brin and his wife were still cohabitating at the time of the alleged affair in December.
Despite having a prenuptial agreement, the divorce settlement between Mr. Brin and Ms. Shanahan is presently being discussed and might total up to $1 billion (£830 million), according to the newspaper.
According to her LinkedIn page, Ms. Shanahan is an attorney based in California who founded the Bia-Echo Foundation and legal technology startup ClearAccessIP. A charitable organization called the Bia-Echo Foundation advocates for “reproductive longevity & equity, criminal justice reform, and a healthy & living world.”
The CEO of the rocket company SpaceX, Mr. Musk, is well known for the way he runs his multiple businesses, but his personal life has also caught the attention of the media.
In tweets earlier this month, he seemed to confirm rumors that he and Shivon Zilis, an executive at his technology company Neuralink, had twins in late 2021. It happened a few weeks after it was made public that his daughter Vivian had made efforts to sever her relationship with him and stated her desire to “never again be associated with my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”
Due to his abandoned $44 billion proposal to purchase Twitter, Mr. Musk is currently involved in a court battle. After he declared he was abandoning the company’s planned takeover earlier this month, the social media platform filed suit against him.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mr. Musk is the richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of more than $240 billion.
Musk and Brin’s friendship dates back
Brin and Musk had been close friends for a long time, and it was said that Musk frequently slept at Brin’s house in Silicon Valley. Since Musk’s automaker was founded in 2003, Brin, the seventh-richest person in the world with a net worth of $95 billion, has made a number of investments in Tesla. In 2006, Brin and Google co-founder Larry Page each committed $40 million to a financing round. According to Ashlee Vance in his 2015 biography of Musk, while Tesla was in financial trouble in 2008, Musk issued requests for capital to a number of acquaintances. Brin contributed $50,000.
When the BBC contacted Ms. Shanahan, Mr. Brin, and Google for comment, none of them responded right away.
