Amanda Henry, a dedicated advocate for women’s financial literacy and career success, has been crowned Mrs. Arizona US 2024. Competing in the Miss West Coast Pageant, a prestigious event covering California, Nevada, and Arizona, Amanda emerged as one of the top three winners, securing the title and preparing to represent Arizona in the upcoming Mrs. United States competition this October.
Founded in 2017, Amanda’s pageant platform and passion initiative, Living In the Abundance (LITA), aims to equip ambitious young women with the tools and knowledge necessary for financial freedom and career success. Through workshops, mentorship, and educational resources, LITA addresses the significant gaps in financial literacy and career development among young women.
Amanda’s journey to success has been marked by overcoming challenges as a first-generation young Black woman navigating adulthood without a clear blueprint. Her experiences in the corporate world and navigating her own personal finances inspired her to create LITA as a bridge for those coming after her. Today, LITA has grown into a community of 15,000 members across social media channels, empowering young women to become “Financially Free Corporate Queens.”
Amanda’s multifaceted career is complemented by her commitment to continuous learning and community involvement. She regularly speaks at conferences and panels, sharing insights on financial literacy, career development, and personal empowerment. Her efforts have been recognized with several awards. Amanda’s influence extends beyond her immediate community, inspiring women nationwide to pursue their goals with confidence and resilience.
As a multifaceted trailblazer, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her platform. She holds a Master of Science in Global Marketing Management from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wharton Business School. Her career has seen impactful roles at global giants like Verizon, The Walt Disney Company, and BET, spanning functions in Learning & Development, Sales, Project Management, Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Data Analytics. Currently, Amanda works as a Senior Corporate Facilitator at Google, where she designs and delivers workshops to upskill top tech talent across the country. She is also the author of “The Financial Abundance Blueprint – A Black Woman’s Guide to Achieving Financial Literacy, Building a Successful Career, and Breaking Boundaries” set to publish Dec 2024.
In addition to her professional achievements, Amanda’s personal life is filled with activities that bring her joy and balance. She enjoys golf, a sport she was introduced to by her father at a young age. Her love for the game has continued into adulthood, and it’s now a favorite family activity. Amanda also has a passion for basketball, having been involved in the sport in various capacities throughout high school. She now enjoys attending live games, particularly those of the Lakers and Warriors. Furthermore, Amanda and her family love traveling, with frequent vacations to the Caribbean, including favorite destinations like the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Mexico. Her love for 90s R&B music adds a melodic backdrop to her life, with Keith Sweat being a favorite artist she has seen in concert over ten times.
As Mrs. Arizona US 2024, Amanda Henry is set to inspire even more women through her advocacy and leadership. Her dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of young women ensures that her title is not just a personal achievement but a milestone for her community as well. By addressing the gaps in financial literacy and career development, Amanda is paving the way for future generations of women to thrive in their personal and professional lives!
