Console Vault’s New Elite 4-Digit Lock

The world may be getting a lot more dangerous, but an Ohio-based startup wants to make your vehicle — and your belongings — a lot more secure.

On March 22nd, Console Vault launched a new Elite 4-digit lock for its in-vehicle safes. The Elite lock is an upgraded 4-Digit Mechanical lock, with enhanced tamper-proof features and an easier-to-operate design. The new lock has also been fitted with larger numbers in an easy-to-read format and can be operated without the need for a cumbersome finger pull.

The company’s Founder and President, Scott Bonvissuto, says the upgrade was the result of overwhelming demand. As both crime and inflation have skyrocketed during the pandemic, Americans have naturally become more concerned with security. “We take customer feedback very seriously,” says Bonvissuto, “so after reviewing customer requests about new lock options, I gave my engineering and design team their greatest challenge to date: engineer and design the best 4-digit mechanical lock available.”

The Console Vault Elite 4-Digit Lock has been in development for more than a year and a half, and the company calls it their most secure mechanical lock available on the market today, based on their comprehensive testing. The lock can be purchased as an upgrade for existing customers, or as a new option for those looking to purchase a new Console Vault In-Vehicle Safe.

As far as vehicle application offerings go, Bonvissuto notes that a majority of vehicles are covered, with expanding offerings being released on a consistent basis. The company recently expanded its after-market vehicle roster to include sixteen marques, including Tesla and Kia; Console Vault is also an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supplier for the Ford and Toyota.

“The last thing we wanted was to deny people the benefit of a vehicle safe because they were scared of the cost or installation process, so we’ve made installing the Elite 4-Digit Lock an easy do-it-yourself process,” he says. “Most customers say they installed it in as little as 10 to 15 minutes.”

Console Vault’s safes are custom fitted for each vehicle, manufactured from heavy-gauge steel, and created to meet automotive manufacturers’ stringent quality standards. Having been the victim of smash-and-grab thefts in the past, himself, Bonvissuto says, “he wanted to make sure that even if criminals got inside a vehicle, they could not make it into the safe.” “Most of these crimes are opportunistic,” he adds. “If a thief can’t immediately take what they want, they tend to give up rather than risk attracting unwanted attention.”

The Elite 4-Digit Lock is exclusive to Console Vault, with details and special discounts available on the company’s website. Bonvissuto says that no one should expect the world to become safer any time soon, but that he and his engineers are laser-focused on keeping their customers one step ahead of the bad guys.
