Today, we’ve teamed up with DeAnte Greer, a seasoned fitness and yoga instructor, to shed light on why trainers must uphold a body-positivity mindset. DeAnte, the founder of ZenProtein, has a passion for uplifting both body and spirit. And, she is also known for her remarkable 100-pound weight loss achieved in just 5 months.
For DeAnte, the journey toward embracing body positivity wasn’t always smooth. Like many, she encountered her fair share of insecurities and societal pressures to conform to certain beauty standards. But through her experiences, she realized that true wellness goes beyond the physical realm.

“During my yoga sessions, I emphasize the importance of listening to your body and honoring its unique needs,” DeAnte explains. After all, yoga is not about forcing yourself into pretzel-like poses. It’s about finding what feels good for you in the moment and embracing that.
However, promoting body positivity should not be limited to what happens inside the studio. Instead, it should be expanded to challenging societal norms and advocating for change on a broader scale. From calling out harmful stereotypes to championing representation in the fitness industry, there’s a lot that instructors can do to make a positive impact.
DeAnte asserts that fitness professionals have a platform and a responsibility to use their voices for good. Whether it’s through social media advocacy or community outreach programs, trainers can help shift the narrative toward one that celebrates diversity and promotes body acceptance.

“I often share personal anecdotes and research findings with my clients to illustrate the importance of self-love and acceptance,” DeAnte says. “It’s amazing to see the transformation that occurs when people realize that their worth isn’t determined by their appearance.”
