As a leader in your industry, how do you prioritize diversity and inclusion within your business practices?
Embracing diversity and cultural inclusion is a core value in my beauty business. Ensuring that everyone understands and practices professionalism is key. I actively engage with my team to foster these values, but creating an inclusive and professional environment is a team effort where everyone plays a part.
What challenges have you faced as a woman entrepreneur, and how have you overcome them?
One major challenge has been dealing with envy from those who don’t see the hard work behind my success. People often perceive my achievements as effortless, not recognizing the dedication involved. I’ve learned to focus on my goals and ignore negativity. Another challenge is finding employees who share my vision. I address this by carefully selecting individuals who are committed to our objectives.
How do you navigate moments of failure or setbacks, and what do you do to stay resilient in the face of adversity?
I don’t view setbacks as failures but as opportunities for growth. I maintain a positive mindset, which helps me take risks, learn from mistakes, and keep moving toward my goals. Embracing a growth mindset has been crucial for staying resilient and continuing to strive for success.
Looking ahead, what are your hopes and aspirations for the future, both personally and professionally?
Personally, I hope to slow down and savor life’s simple pleasures, like spending more time with loved ones and appreciating nature. Professionally, I aim to start a nonprofit organization focused on beauty education, mentorship, and emotional support for underserved communities, including those affected by poverty, abuse, and trauma, for both men and women, helping them regain confidence and independence through skill development.
