On October 5th, the premier wellness studio celebrated its one-year anniversary with a red-carpet event that brought together industry insiders, wellness enthusiasts, and a host of local celebrities.
Held at the studio’s West Hollywood location, the event featured a live DJ set by DJ Tess, a cocktail and mocktail bar, tarot readings, and raffle prizes that kept the energy buzzing throughout the evening. Specialty gift bags, curated in collaboration with leading wellness and lifestyle brands like Link x Lou, Four Sigmatic, Koa Life, BOMANI, Nialaya, and Zero Proof, added a touch of luxury to the event. The exclusive affair was a fitting celebration for a studio that’s redefined what it means to be a wellness space in Los Angeles.
Founder Janina Washington welcomed guests and shared her vision for the future of Evoken. “Our first year has been an incredible journey,” she said. “I launched Evoken because Pilates changed my life—it transformed my body and mindset, and I wanted to create a space where others could have that same experience.” What began as a single-location studio in West Hollywood has rapidly become a beacon of holistic health and wellness, offering much more than just Pilates.
Evoken’s diverse offerings include yoga, sound baths, meditation, and advanced recovery services like contrast therapy, infrared saunas, and cold plunge baths. The newly launched wellness suite, a focal point of the anniversary celebration, has become a popular addition for clients looking to incorporate recovery into their routines. “Our studio is designed to be a sanctuary where you can connect with your breath, relax, and feel challenged but never defeated,” Janina explained. “It’s about mind-body connection and creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.”
Throughout the evening, guests mingled over cocktails and mocktails, participated in tarot readings, and enjoyed a relaxed yet lively atmosphere that perfectly encapsulated the Evoken experience. Red carpet arrivals set the tone for a fun night of glamour and wellness conversations, during which Janina shared the studio’s journey and upcoming plans, highlighting the future for Evoken.
“The first year wasn’t without challenges,” Janina confessed. “Coming from a background of financial hardship, I had to rely on personal loans from friends. There were days when I wore ten different hats, handling everything from customer service to event planning. But the support of my team, our amazing instructors, and my partner made it all worthwhile.”
The positive response from the community has been overwhelming. “We received five-star reviews in such a short period, and that tells us we’re building something special,” Janina shared. As Evoken enters its second year, Janina and her team plan to expand their offerings and potentially open new locations in other major cities.
“Clients have even requested that we expand to cities like New York and London,” she revealed. “Knowing there’s such demand in these hotspots has influenced our long-term expansion plans as we continue building something truly special, guided by the needs and desires of our community.”
