Gregory Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC Shares Legal Truth on Student Loan Debt and SOLs

Education is often described as the passport to a better future, but nobody ever talks about the enormous cost of obtaining a quality higher education, especially in the United States. Unfortunately, pursuing higher education comes at a high cost for millions of Americans, which often results in debt to be paid years after graduation. In fact, according to statistics, students have accumulated student debt over $1.59 trillion. These students have little hope of paying the student loan debts off even decades after graduation. To this end, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC helps these students combat the problem and offset their loans through strategic negotiations.

Based in California, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC is a one-stop-shop legal firm trusted for its legal representation in handling debts of any kind, including student loan debt, collection lawsuits, debtor protection/settlement plan, credit card debt, business debt collection, harassment claims, medical debt and several others. The firm has been dubbed the “debtor protectors” and is a four-time honoree for the Fastest Growing Law Firms in the US.

When it comes to handling debts,  Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC and its team of legal experts have gained clients’ trust with their affordable yet excellent services. Through a personalized “get out of debt plan” aptly designed to suit the clients’ specific needs, the firm provides the necessary tools, negotiation powers and legal representation that is flexible enough to resolve outstanding debts in a time-efficient manner.

In a recent article released by a private creditor on the law surrounding Statutes of Limitation on student loans, co-founding partner Gregory Fitzgerald noted some disparities and released a counter statement to educate and empower students and the general public to help them understand their consumer protection rights in becoming debt-free.

According to the article, the private creditor claimed that “some debts, like student loans, are not subject to statutes of limitations.” That means that lenders or debt collectors are not time-barred from suing you in court to collect the money you owe, no matter how long ago you stopped paying on the student loan debt. Fitzgerald vehemently disagrees with this, labeling it “preposterous” and challenged the notion, urging the public to seek the truth and avoid creditors that purposely misinform customers for their gain. Instead, he elucidated that such companies thrive on keeping consumers in the dark, starving them of the already scarce legal rights and resources available to them as debtors.

“Debtors are being crushed by overwhelming student loan debts that, thanks to financial industry legislative power, can no longer be discharged in bankruptcy as a matter of right. Debtors already have too little to no access to competent and affordable legal counsel. Debtors have precious too few rights as it is,” he explained.

With this customer-based approach to debt resolution, Fitzgerald & Campbell, APLC has saved thousands of individuals from the quicksand of student loan debt while educating them to keep them informed and protected against harassment by creditors.
