Not many people realize this, but hair can have a significant impact on a person’s confidence. Much like good clothes and shoes, a hairstyle can affect how someone feels about themselves. Knowing how hair can positively impact a person’s life, entrepreneur Kimberly Cloud established Wigs for Success Incorporated, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals dress for success.
Wigs for Success was established in July earlier this year. Founder Kimberly Cloud shared, “I went around to numerous places trying to find out what I could do to build my brands and my companies while simultaneously helping individuals in the Santa Maria area.”
Prior to establishing the Wigs for Success nonprofit organization, Kimberly Cloud has successfully launched two other companies. This successful mompreneur is the brilliant mind behind the professional cleaning company Blue Cloud Cleaning, which caters to patrons in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas. She is also the woman behind Genuinely Michelle Wigs, a hair and wigs supply store she established in May 2020.
With Wigs for Success being her third business venture, Kimberly Cloud is creating opportunities for people to give back to the community. An avid advocate for women empowerment and wellness in the workspace, Kimberly envisioned Wigs for Success as a haven for lower-income women who are looking for better work opportunities.
When employers interview applicants, they expect them to look professional and presentable by wearing work-appropriate clothes. But people from lower-income brackets do not usually have access to clothes and accessories that help them “look the part.” Seizing this opportunity to help the community, Kimberly started Wigs for Success. Her latest venture accepts wig donations as well as office wear donations, hair accessories, and jewelry donations. These items will be made available to anyone in the community who needs to borrow clothes for job interviews and other work opportunities.
To promote the work she is doing with Wigs for Success, Kimberly Cloud will appear on the Santa Monica television network and the Santa Maria Times. “I will be leading a fundraising campaign soon, and I want to get the word out so more people can jump in and help,” the entrepreneur explained. To raise more awareness for her cause, Kimberly will also be at a ribbon-cutting ceremony with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce. She shared, “I will be putting a wig on them and create a fun and eccentric approach to promoting job wellness, basic education opportunities, and job opportunities.
Aside from Wigs for Success, Kimberly Cloud is also affiliated with Dress for Success and The Wardrobe. She recently added another lending closet to her advocacies, this time partnering with Allan Hancock College. With this entrepreneur’s latest endeavors, she continues to help people in need of jobs or education. Kimberly explained, “I want to turn poverty around in this community by building a brighter future and helping people find job opportunities.” In the future, Kimberly wants to venture more into coaching and mentoring, saying, “If I can help create a positive atmosphere for people, that would bring me so much joy. I would love to help them get past the invisible barriers that hold them back.”Kimberly Cloud is the successful entrepreneur behind Genuinely Michelle Wigs and Blue Cloud Cleaning Company.
