Kathy Ireland Celebrated Thanksgiving with Holiday Special The Waltons’ Homecoming

The Thanksgiving holidays are here again, and after the challenging year everyone has had, there’s truly a lot to be thankful for. So to celebrate the season and send a virtual gift to every family in America, the chief designer and CEO of kathy ireland® Worldwide, Kathy Ireland, presents The Waltons’ Homecoming. This holiday special dredges up positive memories and inspires family values like hope, love and faith. The film will air on a major TV network, The CW, on November 28, 2021, and restream on December 11 to celebrate the holidays.

The American holiday classic, which follows the story of John Boy and his family as they prepare for John Senior’s homecoming amid trials and tribulations that change the course of their lives forever, will be brought to the screen by a stellar cast and team of producers and creators looking to bring holiday cheer to families across the nation. The film stars the original actor who played John Boy, Richard Thomas, as the narrator in the production. It also stars several screen favorites, such as Bellamy Young, Ben Lawson, Logan Shroyer.

In a statement, Kathy shared her thoughts on the positive values the film hopes to resurrect. “The American classic speaks on the purest values— faith, family, love, inclusivity,” Kathy shares. “There are so many events going on in the world today that fail to bring hope. After a very challenging year, The Waltons’ Homecoming is our gift to America.” Additionally, the film is produced by executive producer Sam Haskell, an Emmy Award winner and the Chair and President of Magnolia Hill Productions at Warner Bros. He helped bring the vision of “The Waltons’ Homecoming” to life.

“When we began thinking of what gift we could give to virtually every American family this year, this film became our powerful choice,” Kathy Ireland shared. Kathy’s philanthropic heart goes beyond making a holiday movie. She serves as the International Chair for The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (nationalpcf.org), sharing her support for children battling cancer.

The Waltons’ Homecoming looks to take people through a nostalgic rollercoaster with musical legends and seven-time Grammy Award-winner Marilyn Coo and Billy Davis Jr. The two musical giants will lead a stirring rendition of “Silent Night” in addition to creating the beautiful soundtrack of the film. The song came out on Monday, November 29, as part of a WaterTower Music release.

For Kathy, 2021 has been a tremendously successful year. She recently received the Business International Religious Freedom Champion Award from the IRD and an Internal Home Furnishings Association Icon Award. In addition, she became the youngest woman ever to get elected to the Licensing International Hall of Fame. She currently serves as the Chairperson, CEO, Chief Designer of kathy ireland® Worldwide. In the coming years, she hopes to spread positivity and help others feel the light.
