Kfhox on Rising to Prominence and Baring a New Side to Her Artistry with the Release of “Rider”

Reinventing oneself and stepping out of one’s comfort zone are risks that many will hesitate to take for fear of change and the unknown. But most of the powerhouses that are now enjoying the fruits of their hard work and occupying a place at the top of their industry managed to reach incredible heights by refusing to remain stagnant and complacent. Instead, in the face of the ever-dynamic landscapes of today, they were quick to push themselves to the limit and find ways to perfect their craft. Kathryn Kfhox Hoxie, better known as Kfhox, is among those whose thirst for growth and subsequent grind to evolve paved the way for their rise to prominence.

Currently based in Nashville, this singer-songwriter is a well-recognized name in the music industry. A veteran indie artist, her evolution is apparent over the ten years she’s been in the field and proves as an example for others to follow.

Before relocating to Tennessee, Kfhox was an impressive force in the New York scene, capturing the interest of countless listeners by dropping one top-notch release after another and integrating a full band into her hip-hop-influenced sound. The widely-acclaimed figure has snagged numerous achievements under her belt throughout her career, including multiple nods from prestigious award-giving bodies. In 2016, her song “Daydream” was under consideration at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Pop Solo Performance. Since then, she has also been acknowledged for three other Grammy categories, thanks to her single “Back With You.”

During her time in the City that Never Sleeps, Kfhox cemented her standing as a multi-faceted musician, hitting major stages like Webster Hall, The Cutting Room, and Shrine World Music Venue and gathering legions of fans at her annual performances. At the end of 2017, she relocated to the songwriting capital of the world, enticed by the city’s prestige in birthing and honing world-class talents. “Nashville’s connection to music is unparalleled; its reputation is what lured me from NYC to the south to take my career to the next level,” shared the highly accomplished star.

Thus far, Kfhox has dropped a string of hits and career-defining albums. Her third studio album, Love 360, propelled her toward the limelight in 2020 and made waves on radio. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the songwriter was one of the thousands of artists impacted by the shutting down of the live music world, but she did not allow the circumstances to impede her growing renown. Using that time to continue writing and recording, she has come out on the other side with a whole new album, which is primarily hip-hop-based and presents a side of the artist previously veiled before.

Kfhox, whose artistry reflects her eclectic and vast taste and runs the gamut from pop and reggae to hip-hop, is set to release a new single called “Rider.” A sneak peek of things to come musically from the go-getter, this new track is expected to find its way to people’s favorite playlists.
