After service, many veterans struggle to find their place in society. But there are those like Matthew Whiteman who can thrive in civilian life. Today, he runs MW Entertainment Group, a company on the way to launching mobile video games that will take the gaming industry by storm.
MW Entertainment Group is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. It belongs to Matthew Whiteman, a disabled combat veteran who served in Operation Enduring Freedom from 2011 to 2012. He retired from active-duty service in November 2014. During his time in the US Air Force and later the US Army. Matthew spent ten years on active duty, followed by six years of inactive status due to personnel downsizing.
In March 2020, Matthew and his team started planning to release four mobile video games. They have launched one called “Knuckle Mania,” a hybrid baseball game that is now at the culmination of back-end app development. The game will launch its beta version sometime in November 2022. The competition aims to hit. All-American kids, The American Flag, Baseball, and Apple Pie are the main ingredients for Matthew’s brand and chief designs for their games.
MW Entertainment Group came to life when the COVID-19 pandemic exploded, and everyone was still in a state of confusion. They mainly focused their efforts on the vast realm of mobile video gaming entertainment.
Matthew entered Air Force ROTC in 1993, and then earned an undergraduate degree in 1998. He continued his education three years later and graduated with an MBA in 2002. Matthew is married and the father of three children. From 2015 through 2019, he pursued a career in professional screenwriting while simultaneously attending eighteen months of film school locally in San Diego at Palomar College.
Matthew has written numerous screenplays, including a twenty-two-episode TV series about professional baseball. His first feature film drew attention from Unity Motion Pictures out of Vancouver, BC, in 2015 and got him a big break in the entertainment industry. Matthew spent the past five years building a name for himself in the screenwriting industry. After seeing the rise of smartphones, he decided to shift their company, focusing on mobile games.
Today, Matthew hopes to break ground with “Knuckle Mania,” poised to make a strong entry. The gaming entrepreneur chose a baseball game because the market lacks an attractive option. Most baseball games now lack substantive features and excitement. A baseball game simulation of nine innings usually takes approximately one hour to complete. That’s a long time for kids with limited attention spans to stay engaged and entertained. Matthew’s solution, “Knuckle Mania,” is a fun, intuitive hybrid baseball game that eliminates the need for calculations and complexities. Instead, it focuses on entertaining players so they can have a great time, even if it’s just an hour.
“We believe that all four designs will be up and running by the end of this time for everyone to enjoy,” Matthew said. Most people own a phone and can spend hours playing games, whether in The United States or abroad. Whether waiting for a doctor’s appointment, on their flight or waiting in traffic while riding as a passenger, anyone can engage in a quick game.
Over the next five years, mobile gaming is going to be more popular than it has ever been before. Matthew hopes to ride that wave.
