Entrepreneurship, a term that might sound complex, but at its core, it’s about individuals who start and run their own businesses. This article sheds light on the experiences of Eric Ahiekpor, a man who hails from Accra, the capital of Ghana. Eric’s story is a testament to the intersection of entrepreneurship and family, showcasing how a person’s upbringing and experiences can shape their entrepreneurial path.

Eric Ahiekpor was born to Francis and Miriam Ahiekpor, and he is the eldest among his two siblings, Angela and Linus. Growing up in Accra, Eric was just like any other kid. He had a passion for soccer and ping pong, and he was not just an athlete but also a good student. In his school days, he often found himself in the top 10% of his class, reflecting his dedication and commitment to learning.

After completing his high school education at the Advanced Winneva High School in Accra in 1988, Eric took the significant step of moving to the United States for higher education. His journey towards becoming an entrepreneur started with the pursuit of knowledge and skill development.

In Ghana, Eric spent a year at the West African Secondary School before making the life-changing decision to move to the US to further his studies. In 1989, he embarked on his American journey, enrolling at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. His dedication and hard work paid off, as he graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a minor in accounting.

After completing his education, Eric Ahiekpor didn’t stop there. He ventured into the corporate world, holding various management roles. These experiences equipped him with essential skills and knowledge that would later prove to be invaluable on his entrepreneurial journey.

In 2008, Eric made a pivotal decision to start his entrepreneurial endeavor, founding Premier Choice Health Services (PCHS). PCHS is now recognized as one of the highest-rated STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) schools in central Ohio. The school not only imparts quality education but also provides a path to employment for its students, making a meaningful impact on the lives of those it serves.

PCHS doesn’t stop at education; it extends its reach into the home health care business. Graduates from PCHS often find employment within this branch of the organization. This holistic approach reflects Eric’s commitment to not only nurturing entrepreneurship but also fostering a sense of family within his business ventures.

Beyond the world of entrepreneurship, Eric Ahiekpor has a wide array of personal passions and interests. He’s an avid soccer enthusiast, which is no surprise given his love for the sport during his youth. In the realm of American sports, he proudly supports the Pittsburgh Steelers, showcasing his diverse sports interests.

Eric’s hobbies also include boating, enjoying entertainment, and a profound appreciation for African music. He enjoys leisure activities like ping pong and chess, showing that an entrepreneurial spirit can coexist with the pursuit of happiness and leisure.

However, what shines through most is Eric’s dedication to spending time with his family. Despite his busy schedule as an entrepreneur, he understands the importance of family and values the moments spent with his loved ones. This focus on family is a core value that has guided his journey.

In conclusion, Eric Ahiekpor’s life is a simple yet powerful example of the intertwining of entrepreneurship and family. It all began with a young boy from Accra who excelled in both sports and academics, and through dedication and hard work, he carved a path from Ghana to the United States. His entrepreneurial journey, marked by the founding of Premier Choice Health Services, not only reflects his commitment to education and business but also his dedication to the well-being and future of his students.

Eric’s personal interests and hobbies remind us that even in the world of entrepreneurship, there’s room for the pursuit of passion and leisure. Above all, his emphasis on family time underscores the importance of cherishing the moments with loved ones, reminding us all that success isn’t just about business, but about the bonds we create and nurture in our journey through life.
