Insira Hones His Music Production Skills During the Lockdown

The global lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic is fresh on everyone’s minds, and though it has been a year of trying times, it did give birth to some of the amazing things and talents keeping the world colorful today. Hawaii-based songwriter, rapper, and now music producer, Insira, used that period to get into his creative element. He deviated from the business side of his music to the creative part. Insira signed up for music production classes online to improve his music production skills.

Even though he was down with illness at the time and his mother was diagnosed with cancer, Insira was not deterred from his goal of becoming a proficient music producer. He was unable to meet with his mentors in the industry, and Insira knew how important it was for him to keep creating music. With everything he could master, he started building a home studio from scratch, and within months, he had put together an intergalactic-themed home studio in his bedroom where he would produce all his next singles.

As the pandemic raged on in 2020, Insira released his single, “Dear Mama,” a tribute to his mother, who was fighting cancer. The song told an emotional story of how his mother broke the news of her diagnosis and how things have been since his mother got sick. Insira poured out his heart in the song, and since its release, it has garnered more than 500,000 streams across all major music platforms. This gave Insira the confidence boost he needed to know that he was doing something right with his music.

Apart from “Dear Mama,” the 28-year old also released many other singles such as “Anxiety,” “Neverland,” “I’m Vulnerable,” “Trapped in a Nightmare,” and “Just Dreaming.” “Dear Mama” remains a fan favorite, and Insira has admitted that the song blessed him beyond his imaginations. With an album titled Pieces of Myself in the works, Insira produced 20 tracks during the pandemic from the comfort of his home. This was the first time he worked alone all his career, and it gave him the avenue to explore different genres and styles.

“A musician should not be boxed in one genre. Over the past year, I have experimented with different techniques, styles, and genres, and I can say this has improved my versatility. My upcoming album traverses different genres, and I’m sure music fans from all walks of life will find a favorite,” Insira says. Taking full creative charge of his album has made a significant impact on his career and will continue to influence his music going forward.

Insira also recently launched his clothing line and was ranked number 10 on Grimes Magazine’s top 20 indie artists. Many labels have reached out to him with the hopes of working with him, but Insira hasn’t decided on who he wants to work with. He has a lot in store for his fans, and his album is one thing he wants everyone to look forward to because he gave it his all and wants everyone out there listening; no matter how old you are or what background you come from, his music is relatable to anyone.Learn more about Insira on his official website, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
